This page will soon contain all the contact information for the various organisations that take complaints about staff and organisations of the NHS and GTD.
In most cases you will begin your complaint with PALs or the practice manager. These people are paid by the organisations you are complaining to. The are often work friends with the staff member you want to complain about. Sometimes your complaint is made to a team off site. Many of our friends who tell their experiences, usually comment that they got no support after their complaint. Many say the complaints team sided with the staff. Many say they felt dismissed, experienced gaslighting to a degree, felt as if their character was brought into question, or never got a reply even after several months.
If you feel you have a valid complaint against a staff member than you do not know the name of, there are ways to obtain their information.
We are looking for help compiling information for this wesite to share with you, our friends. If you're interested in helping us do research via google or making phone calls please get in touch or visit our volunteer page for more details.
It is possible that you have had contact with one or more of these agencies during your experience. Please include this portion of your story if you contact us.
Oddly enough, the NHS suggests that if you have a complaint about your GP or Surgery, you should complain to that surgery. They suggest you contact the practice manager to make all formal complaints.
You may be interested to know that many GP surgeries are owned or rented from the NHS or GTD to the lead doctor or one or more doctors that work at that surgery. It is also common to see doctors related to each other working in the same surgery.
In most cases, you will submit a formal complaint about a negative experience in a hospital or with hospital staff to an organisation call PALs. Each hospital will have it's own PALs department. Their contact info should be easy to find on each hospitals website. If you can not find a complaint department for a hospital, please contact us and we will help you search the internet.
In some cases PALs also takes complaints about other facilities on and off the hospital grounds. The secretaries or administrative staff of all facilities will be able to tell you who takes complaints about their staff, facility and organisation.
Getting Your Records
You have a legal right to your medical records. People have various reasons for wanting to have copies.
You should be able to request all medical records held about you by contacting the administrative staff at any NHS facility.
You may have to wait and photo ID may be requested when you pick them up.
If you have not started legal action but, you think you might, you should request paper copies for yourself before mentioning legal action. Some experiences of those telling us their stories, have proof some records have been excluded completely or show information as black out after it is requested for legal reasons.
Many places have now moved everything to electronic files and they will send you a link to see your files online.
